The Qdos® Adhesive Double Door Lock is uniquely designed to be simple to install on standard FRAMED double door cabinets. Does not work on frameless (Euro/IKEA) cabinets. Common babyproofing cabinet latches clamp around handles or knobs, which creates enough movement to allow the doors to partially open, thereby creating serious pinch hazards. Our ZeroPinch® design keeps the doors closed without any movement, while the contemporary design fits right in and will complement your home décor. The double action lock is easy for adults to operate with one hand, but strong springs make it very challenging for kids with smaller hands to defeat. FAQ
+ What is the difference between the Double Door Lock and a regular sliding cabinet lock?
You can operate our Adhesive Double Door Lock with one hand, while regular sliding cabinet locks require two hands and can be quite cumbersome to use. In additional, a regular sliding cabinet lock always allows the doors to be pulled open to a degree which creates a finger pinch hazard for a child, while our Adhesive Double Door Lock keeps the doors completely closed, eliminating any finger pinch hazard.
+ How big is the cap?
The diameter of the cap is 2".
+ How big of a gap do I need between the doors for the arm to stick out?
The arm is 1/8" thick, so slightly more than 1/8”. Most cabinet hinges can be adjusted sideways to increase the gap if it isn’t large enough.
+ My cabinets have a center piece behind the doors, can I still use the Adhesive Double Door Lock?
Yes, our Adhesive Double Door Locks come with a solution for this situation. There are four different length arms and an adhesive mounting plate that mounts directly on this center piece.
+ Will my child be able to get the lock off?
The buttons on our Adhesive Double Door Lock are difficult for a child to push in simultaneously to open. In order to extend the time of use, make sure not to remove it in front of the child and discontinue use once the child can defeat it.
+ Where should I put the Storage Post?
We recommend putting it on the inside of the door you’re using it on.
