Yes, the Extending SafeGate is a Hardware Mount baby gate, which is the only type of baby gate that is safe at the top of the stairs. It can also be used at the bottom of stairs or in openings or doorways.
+ How wide can the Extending SafeGate go?
The Extending Gate can fit spaces as narrow as 25.6” and as wide as 40.9”.
+ Can I operate this gate with only one hand?
Yes, the Extending SafeGate was designed so it is very easy to open and close using only one hand.
+ My house has baseboards. Will this baby gate still work?
Yes, you can adjust the spindles independently and have the lower shorter than the top spindles. Sometimes this may not be possible but, by using the Qdos Universal Baseboard Kit, you can easily install this gate with a baseboard that is up to 7” tall and 7/8” thick.
+ Can the Extending SafeGate be mounted to my wooden banister?
Yes, depending upon the shape and contour of the banister. If you would like to avoid screwing into your woodwork, you could use the Qdos Universal Stair Mounting Kit.
+ How hard is it to mount this baby gate?
It's easy! A plastic installation template (NOT a cheap paper one) is included with the Extending SafeGate, which acts as a guide to show you exactly where screws need to be placed without the need to measure.
+ Can this baby gate be used outside?
