+ What is the width range for this baby gate?
The Crystal Designer Pressure Mount Baby Gate has a range of 29.9” – 37.8” with the included extensions; additional extensions available to fit openings up to 48.8”.
+ Can this baby gate be used at the bottom of the stairs?
Yes, the Crystal Pressure Mount gate can be used at the bottom of the stairs, as well as in openings or doorways, but it is not recommended to use any pressure mount baby gate at the top of the stairs.
+ What is the best way to clean my Crystal Designer Baby Gate?
The best way to clean the Acrylic is with a micro-fiber cloth and a mild soap; do NOT use paper towels. There are also specially formulated cleaning products for Acrylic such as Novus 1 and Novus 2. CAUTION! Do not use paper towels and don’t use any cleaning product that contains ammonia such as Windex, 409, etc. Never use abrasive cleaning products.
+ Are extensions included?
Yes, two extensions come with it to cover an opening up to 37.8” wide. You can add up to 4 more Designer Extensions (sets of 2 extensions are sold separately) for a maximum width of 48.8”.
+ Will this baby gate work in my house that has quarter round molding?
Yes, the Crystal Pressure Mount Baby Gate comes with the unique Qdos QRF spindle that allows a perfect installation over quarter round molding, which is not possible with standard round spindle heads.
+ Will this gate work with a wooden banister at the bottom of my stairs?
Yes-but you will likely need to add the Qdos Universal Stair Mounting Kit which will give you a flat and secure place to safely mount your baby gate.
+ During installation, how do I know when I have given it enough pressure?
The bottom spindles have the AccuInstall Indicator to tell you when they are installed correctly. Simply continue tightening the nuts until the red area of the AccuInstall Indicator disappears. For the top spindles, tighten the hand wheels until the distance between the baby gate and the handle is 1/8” for proper locking function.
+ Is there a visual way to know that this gate is securely closed/locked?
Yes, the handle on the door has the At-A-Glance Lock Indicator which shows Green if the gate is securely locked and Red if it is not properly locked.
+ Can this baby gate be used outside?
No, all Qdos Baby Gates are designed to be used indoors only.
